At UK Timber Fuels we operate many types of briquette presses. Our HotBrix briquettes are made using machinery made by both RUF and UMP, the two market leaders in this type of briquetting machinery. The finished product is an oblong brick shaped high density wood briquette, some will be embossed with the RUF logo and some will not. The quality of both is identical and equally deserving of the Ecofire brand name.

Our Ecofire HotBrix are made using virgin material from our saw milling production and are extremely dense, long lasting and very dry. Our briquettes are perfect for use in chimneas, open fires and multi-fuel stoves amongst many other applications.
Unlike traditional firewood, Our Ecofire HotBrix Briquettes produce heat almost immediately due to their incredibly low moisture content. They are made from oak and larch with the latter helping with the natural binding process - no chemicals or other additives are used in this process, these heat logs really are the most ecologically sound means of heating your home and are completely carbon neutral.
When burning our briquettes please remember that in order to achieve maximum burn time and effective heat output that they should be left alone once burning, do not poke the fire or burn time will reduce. The briquettes will expand naturally once alight, so it is best to start the fire with a moderate amount of briquettes to allow for expansion, then marvel at how such a small amount of this superb briquette can produce so much heat.
You will find that our heat logs burn with a hugely pleasant flame to begin with that then changes to a highly efficient and calorific glow phase once the flames have disappeared. If burnt in a stove with properly controlled airflow these briquettes can throw out huge amounts of heat for hours.
This listing is for a large bulk bag, although we do supply our Ecofire HotBrix Briquettes in an extra large bulk bag as well as more convenient boxes. A large bulk bag weighs approximately 500kg, however this is an approximation as the weight is somewhat variable due to natural material differences and moisture content.
